Experience sugar cane syrup making the old-fashioned way as experts cook cane juice in the original kettles and press sugar cane on the steam powered press at Jarrell Plantation Historic Site on Saturday, November 7, 2026. The farm will also come to life with live bluegrass music, spinning, weaving, blacksmithing, and woodstove cooking. There will also be a special Civil War encampment to commemorate the November 1864 arrival of General Sherman’s federal troops. Hot sugar cane syrup will be available to purchase at the end of the day (quantities limited). Admission is $9 for Adults, $7.25 for Seniors, $6.50 for Youth 6-17, and $3.50 for children 5 and under.
